What is Botox® and how does it work?

How many units of Botox will I need?
A free consultation at MedAndSpa prior to any treatment will help answer your questions specifically personally to your unique skin needs. The number of units of Botox needed will depend on what areas you would like to be treated, how deep the wrinkles are, and/or what your desired result goals are.
How long do results last?
The effects from Botox will last 3 to 6 months. As muscle action slowly returns, the lines and wrinkles begin to reappear and need to be treated again. Although with each session, the lines and wrinkles will often appear less severe with time because the muscles are shrinking.
Post treatment care
Immediately following the treatment, injected areas may be sensitive and a little swollen. It is important to be cautious at first with muscle movements in the treatment area while it settles in. Wear sunblock as sun exposure can prolong bruising or cause the development of hyperpigmentation in the treatment area. Be sure to disclose any and all pre-existing medical conditions and all medications you may be currently taking before undergoing any treatment. Complete results are achieved within two weeks, although in many cases results are visible after a few days.
